Our cafe and store opened its doors in Kemp Town Brighton in 2013, providing simple, yet delicious home cooked food, salads, basic provisions, coffee, sandwiches and cakes to eat in or takeaway as well as seasonal goods and hampers.
We also offer catering for parties and events.
About Marmalade…
Marmalade is a cafe and store that provides breakfast and lunch to eat in or takeaway, ideal for the morning rush to work or just stocking up on your local provisions. Everyday our chef cooks a selection of dishes in our small cafe kitchen using as many seasonal ingredients as possible and once it's gone it's gone until they start again the next day.
Our counter is stocked full of all your daily food essentials, from bread, eggs and local honey, hot meals, salads, filled baguettes, coffee, pastries, cakes and much more. We even serve wine, a great pit stop for lunch or early evening.
We also produce a daily selection of ready meals cooked by our chef for us to sell to customers. We wanted to create something that is both convenient and nutritious, that you can pop in your oven in the evening without the fuss of cooking. Whether you just want to feed the family or if you’re having guests over, our ready meals are a perfect go to!
We’re very proud to work with so many local suppliers. Our fridge is full of daily essentials from milk, butter and Sussex cheeses, to pesto, fresh pastas and a range of charcuterie. Our chef Simon makes the most delicious jars of spicy tomato chutney, pickled onions and piccalilli. The shelves are stocked with a range of day-to-day products, from fresh bread, eggs, rice and oils to more luxury goods including french lemonade, cordials, sweet and savoury biscuits and delicious chocolate treats.
We also have a lovely selection of gift products and of course, not forgetting our many jars of marmalade and jam.

Our paw’s policy: Although no paws are allowed on the floor at marmalade, we do have a small amount of outdoor seating, which is perfect for enjoying a coffee when the sun comes out.
